There was a lot of new music on the scent and Epiphone needed a modern guitar to suit it. Epiphone merged with Gibson in '57 and shortly after moved away from building larger archtops.
When it was originally introduced in '61 the Casino was an Epiphone breakthrough. Equipped with two vintage-styled P-90 single-coil pickups, the Casino still delivers those amazing tones at a price every player can afford. Since then this fully hollow guitar has taken on a life of its own. The Epiphone Casino has been world famous ever since the Beatles purchased three of them back in '64.
